The Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association (India) (BDMA(I)) was established in 1991 as an all-India body to serve the needs of the bulk drug industry, with its headquarters in Hyderabad. 

As of March 31, 2015, the association had a total membership base of 412. During the year 2015-16, 78 new Ordinary/Associate Members were added, bringing the total membership to 490 as of March 31, 2016.
